For those who do not know about our store, we have been in business for over 45 years in Souderton, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. We specialize in hunting and fishing; however, we've been involved in local team sports for many years as well. There is a big difference between shopping here at our small store and the big, impersonal department stores and that is the care we have for your being satisfied with your purchase, be it a gun, fishing gear or whatever. Of course, we cannot catch the fish or bag the game--but it is a goal that you have the proper equipment for your age and skill. Please take a few moments when you are coming through town to stop by and say hello.
Our store is generally open from 10 to 6, Monday through Friday, and 9 to 5 on Saturdays, although you are encouraged to read the "Important" page by clicking here. We are located on Route 113 just about 4 blocks down from WaWa on the opposite side of the street (corner of Chestnut and Main). Please be advised we do not accept credit cards or debit cards; however, there is an ATM machine within a few blocks of our store.
For history buffs, this is a picture that evidently dates back to when our shop was a blacksmith shop. During the time it was a blacksmith shop, it was also "Jack Trappe Sporting Goods." Note the garage door in the front. At some point, there was a camping center which started out here prior to moving to a larger location. To our knowledge, it was a horse tack shop and had wooden bricks for a floor. This was all before it became Wellington and Evans, the predecessor of Wellington Sporting Goods. This building goes back many, many years!
